Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Patricia Parra Moreno (Patty). I am a Latina therapist who specializes in trauma. I support my clients in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

We might be a good fit if you are looking for a compassionate, warm, experienced therapist.

  • Are you curious about why you overreact emotionally in certain situations?

  • Are you aware that past experiences might still affect you? Do you want to heal to feel lighter in your life?

  • Despite past therapy, are you still struggling with loneliness, self-esteem, or relationship issues?

I am passionate about helping adult daughters of immigrant parents, sexual abuse survivors, and adult children of dysfunction. As your therapist, I aim to compassionately guide you toward understanding yourself and the systems around you that affect your emotional well-being, using a “person in environment” approach from my social work background.

The therapy models I use (Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR) therapy, Ego States, and the Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) focus on healing wounded parts of our past, most often childhood, and creating new experiences for our nervous systems or bodies, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

The foundation of my work is the relationship I have with my clients. First and foremost, it’s important that you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and inner world with me. While EMDR may involve some discomfort, we’ll navigate this together to ensure your comfort throughout the process. To ensure a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

I hope to join you wherever you wish to begin or continue healing. Click the link below to schedule your free consultation.
