About Katy Levine, LCSW
I’m Katy Levine, a licensed clinical social worker, an EMDR trained, and IFS-informed therapist. I specialize in helping women heal from CPTSD, anxiety, perfectionism, overfunctioning, and dysfunctional family dynamics. I use evidence-based trauma treatments that not only value insight, but incorporate the body to holistically shift the felt experience of being with oneself and the world.
I approach this work as someone who has been on the path of healing. Like so many, I started in my own talk therapy. While I gained so much from that experience, I knew I needed to not just think, but feel. Engaging in new ways of approaching therapy through IFS and recognizing my body’s wisdom changed the course for me in ways that inform the work I do to support my clients.
I specialize in:
Individual Therapy – For women or women-identifying individuals seeking relief from trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, and attachment wounding.
IFS-informed EMDR Intensives - Currently only for established clients seeking to add depth to their experience. If you are interested in becoming an established client in order to pursue an intensive with me, schedule a free consultation to learn more.
My Philosophy & Approach
I believe healing is possible—not just learning how to “manage” or “cope,” but actually feeling different in your body, in your relationships, and in your relationship with yourself. I also know that healing looks different for everyone, and there is no “right” way to heal or be healed.
In my work, I hold the perspective that you already have everything you need inside you to heal—sometimes, it just hasn’t had the space, support, or safety to fully emerge. That’s where therapy comes in.
I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you with curiosity, care, and respect for your unique process. Therapy with me is a collaborative space where you can reconnect with your own inner wisdom, learn to feel safe inside yourself again, and live from a place of greater self-trust and authenticity. We’ll also probably share some laughs, reference pop culture, and celebrate the wins together—big or small.

FAQ
-
I specialize in working with women who are navigating anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, and the lasting effects of growing up in emotionally neglectful or dysfunctional families. Many of my clients are excellent at caring for others—but struggle to extend that same care to themselves.
-
I primarily use:
Internal Family Systems (IFS): A gentle, powerful way to explore your inner world and heal from the inside out.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A trauma-focused therapy that helps you process painful memories or belief systems and reduce their emotional charge.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Helps uncover unconscious patterns rooted in early relationships and family dynamics.
I’m also informed by Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and DBT. My work is trauma-informed, collaborative, and paced to meet your unique needs. You won’t be pushed into anything you’re not ready for.

Yes—and that’s exactly what I specialize in.
Many of my clients have tried talk therapy in the past and gained insight, but still feel disconnected from their emotions or stuck in familiar cycles. If you’ve found yourself intellectualizing your pain without actually feeling or releasing it, we’ll work together to shift that.
Using body-based and depth-oriented methods like IFS and EMDR, we can gently access the emotional layers beneath the insight—so you can truly heal, not just understand.

It depends on your goals, your history, and what feels right for you. Some clients come in with a specific issue they want to work through over several months. Others stay longer to explore deeper healing and growth.
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline—healing is not linear, and I’m here to walk the journey with you.

If you’re looking for a therapist who will see all of you—your strength, your pain, your stuck places, and your potential—I’d love to connect.
You don’t have to keep holding everything together alone. Therapy can be a place to finally let go, feel, and begin to heal—on your terms.
If we meet for a consultation or at any point during our work together and it does not feel like a fit, I will provide you with at least two referrals to continue on your healing journey.
