Neurodiversity

As human beings, we all have nervous systems. These nervous systems help us perceive and respond to the world around us. We believe there is no “correct” way for a nervous system to work. However, we also understand that many of us who do perceive and respond to the world differently have received messages from our families, schools, workplaces, and the world around us that something is “wrong” with us and we need to change.

These differences have been labeled as ADHD, Autistic, Aspergers, Highly Sensitive, etc. If those labels help you, we support you. If those labels have been stigmatizing or harmful to you, we are also here for you.

At IFS EMDR Therapy group, we understand there is a wide range of ways that people perceive and respond to the world, and we embrace and encourage these differences. Our therapists will work with you to get to know your nervous system and how your system responds in the world around you, as well as in therapy. We love integrating sensory resourcing and creative approaches to the therapy process that attune to what works best for you.

If this resonates with you, reach out to us today to get started.
