Evyan Roberts is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in EMDR and IFS-Informed EMDR. She offers ongoing therapy for clients who want to incorporate EMDR into their weekly support. EMDR is most known for being highly effective with trauma and mental health treatment. However, it is also used for performance enhancement to excel in areas such as work, creative arts, and relationships.
I’m Evyan Roberts. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that specializes in trauma and grief. I support my clients in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
The people I work with want to change the way they feel and relate to themselves, their life circumstances, and their relationships. Typically my clients are experiencing a recent loss, chronic illness, an ailing relative, unresolved childhood trauma, anxiety, low motivation or low self-esteem, intergenerational trauma, and/or neurospicy burnout. I particularly enjoy working with people who want to increase self-worth, self-esteem, and self-empowerment, women of color, indigenous populations, and LGBTQIA+, survivors of trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, and harassment, and people living with medical conditions, grief, and loss.
We might be a great fit if:
You want to understand and heal the effects of stored grief and loss, ambiguous loss, and intergenerational trauma
You or a loved one live with chronic illness or terminal illness.
You want to increase self-worth, self-esteem, and self-empowerment
You identify as a woman of color, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA+
You experienced trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, or harassment
Working with me you’ll experience a client-focused environment, through a lens of humility, intersectionality, and compassion. My integrated therapeutic approach goes beyond just talk therapy. I draw on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), neurobiology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), my training as a Death Doula, and attachment. I also explore and celebrate neurodiversity with my clients and utilize the wisdom of the body and the nervous system for healing.
