Financing Therapy

We do not participate in any private insurance plans. Working outside of the insurance system, allows therapists to maintain their autonomy, ensure confidentiality, and focus on providing high-quality, personalized care. Our ultimate goal is to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, valued, and supported. To achieve this, our therapists have significantly smaller caseloads and engage in ongoing specialized training and consultation. Our hourly rates are set so therapists can do all of this and make a livable wage to provide high quality care.

In many cases, insurance companies will pay for 50-80% of the cost of therapy through out-of-network benefits. We can provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

We recognize that our full hourly rates may make our services inaccessible for some. For our services to remain as accessible and inclusive as possible, each staff therapist preserves up to 20% of their caseload for reduce rate slots. Morgan also offers time-limited reduced rate EMDR intensives.

We do not want finances to be a barrier in your healing. Therefore in addition to our reduced rate intensive program, we also provide a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits and we accept FSA/HSA payment and Morgan accepts intensive payments in installments in order to support people in being able to do their healing work.

Before your initial consultation, we invite you to think about what you are able to budget including what your out-of-network reimbursement or HSA/FSA funds might be so we can discuss finances openly with you.

We recognize that most of us have trouble discussing money and finances can be overwhelming and often trigger feelings of guilt and shame. We feel that financial discussions are important to have for all of our healing, so we will support you through such sensitive conversations.

Please do not allow the cost to be a barrier to you having a discussion with us. It has been our experience that together we can figure out a way for you to experience the healing work that you desire.

Out-of-Network (OON) Benefits

If you need more information about your out-of-network benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have benefits for out-of-network psychotherapy?

  • Is there a deductible? How much have I reached? When does the deductible reset (usually January 1)?

  • What are the out-of-network benefits for CPT codes 90791 (initial assessment), 90834 (individual psychotherapy), 90837 (individual psychotherapy)?

  • Do I have coverage for therapy via teletherapy (video or phone), with the modifier code 95? This is usually indicated on your receipt or claim by adding "95" to the billing code, i.e. 90834-95 is for an individual session via teletherapy.

  • Do I need any pre-authorization to receive these services out-of-network?

  • Can I submit claims electronically? How long does it take to process?
